The competition is organized by RSU ISC 2025 Organising committee, RSU Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, RSU Department of Clinical Skills and Medical Technology, RSU METC, RSU Scientific group of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care and RSU Scientific group of Medical Simulation.
Medical students enrolled in accredited medical programs can participate. Teams must have 3–4 members, preferably from study years 5–6.
Yes, an admission fee may apply. It must be paid in full before the competition. Refunds are possible based on specific conditions.
Transportation and accommodation expenses are not covered by the organizers.
The competition has two parts:
Preliminary simulations throughout the day.
Finals in the evening, with four teams competing in two parts: semi-finals and finals/3rd-place match.
The competition will be held on March 24, 2025.
Preliminary simulations will take place at RSU Main Building, Dzirciema street 16, Riga and the Finals will occur at the RSU METC, Anniņmuižas bulvāris 26A, Riga
Participants must wear appropriate medical simulation attire (not provided by organizers). Necessary equipment, such as PPE and diagnostic tools, will be provided on-site.
No. Observers and mentors are strictly prohibited from assisting or interfering during the simulations.
Teams will be assessed on leadership, teamwork, communication, clinical skills, and knowledge using standardized evaluation forms. Evaluations are conducted by a jury panel consisting of at least two members.
Certificates will be provided to all participants. The top four teams will receive special awards, and additional prizes may be given for creativity, largest supporter group, etc.
All team members must be present during the finals to receive certificates and awards.
Yes, but changes must be communicated to the organizers before the confirmation email is sent out. Changes after that point are not permitted.
Absolutely. International participation is highly encouraged.
All official communication during the competition will be conducted in English. Team members may use their local language if necessary; however, this may impact the evaluation by the jury.
